About VRD Teleinformatica
An independently owned network and IT infrastructure company, operating from Austin, Texas since 2013.
Started on a job site, still run like one
VRD Teleinformatica LLC was founded in 2013 by Linda Johnson, who had spent the previous decade managing installation crews for larger telecom contractors. The frustration that started the company was simple: clients were sold elaborate systems by salespeople who never saw the building, and the crews who arrived afterwards inherited a design that did not fit the walls.
Linda's approach was to put the person who scopes the job on site, every time. Twelve years later that has not changed. Every proposal that leaves our Austin office is reviewed by the owner, and every project has one named engineer who stays with it from the survey through to hand-over.
We have grown deliberately slowly — a warehouse on Seventh Avenue, a stocked van fleet, and technicians who have been with us for years rather than months. It costs us some large tenders. It also means the crew that walks into your building has done the same work hundreds of times.

Four working principles
These are not posters on a wall. They are the rules we use when a job goes sideways, which is when principles actually matter.
Design before hardware
We will not quote equipment before we understand the building, the headcount and the growth plan. A cheap switch in the wrong closet is not a saving.
Everything in writing
Scope, price, schedule, change orders and test results are documented. If it was agreed on the phone, you will see it in an email the same day.
No lock-in
You own your configurations, your credentials and your documentation. If you ever leave us, the next provider will not need to start from zero.
Say no when we should
If a project is outside our competence or our schedule, we say so and, where we can, point you to someone who can do it properly.
