Before an office move: map the connections
List the desks, phones, printers, access points and specialist equipment that require connectivity. Identify where equipment will live and whether building access or installation windows are restricted. Discuss cable pathways before furniture and finishes are finalized.
Wi-Fi issues: look beyond signal strength
Walls, building materials, device density and interference can all affect wireless performance. Note where issues occur, when they happen and which devices are affected. Those observations provide a useful starting point for a coverage review.
Documentation: make the next change easier
A usable network diagram, labeled ports and a record of configurations can reduce uncertainty during maintenance. Keep records current when connections or equipment change. Store administrative credentials securely, separate from general handover documents.
Define support before you need it
Clarify the covered systems, contact method, availability, escalation process and backup responsibilities. Do not assume that installing equipment automatically includes continuous monitoring or an emergency response commitment.
